Altitude Construction
A Path to the Door That Holds Up
The walkway is the piece of the property everyone actually walks on, and the first thing they see. We build them level, well drained, and set on a base that keeps them that way through winters and years of foot traffic.
No Cracking, Fading, or Settling
Sunken, tilting pavers almost always mean the base was rushed. We excavate and compact properly and grade so water runs off instead of pooling and freezing under the surface. The materials are rated for freeze-thaw and daily traffic, so the path stays flat and keeps its color.
Warranties in Writing
The materials carry a 25-year warranty and our labor carries a one-year warranty. If something isn't right, you have it on paper, not on a handshake.
Pavers, Stone, Brick, or Concrete
Pavers, natural stone, brick, and stamped concrete each come in a range of colors, patterns, and textures. Width, curve, and edging matter as much as the material, and we'll lay the options out against the front of the house before anything gets ordered.
Installed in Under a Week
Most walkways take three to seven days, depending on length and layout. Site prep, grading, the install itself, and final edging and cleanup are handled by the same crew, and we keep a way to the door open while the work is going on.
The Cheapest Curb Appeal There Is
Square foot for square foot, a walkway changes how the front of a house reads for less than almost any other project out here. It needs next to no upkeep once it's in, and it takes a trip hazard out of the path your guests and mail carrier use every day.
Veteran-Owned and Family-Run
Altitude Construction is veteran-owned and family-operated. You deal with the people whose name is on the truck, from the first walkthrough to the last stone set.
Our process
Our Walkway Installation Process
Four steps from the first visit to the finished path — a walkway is the first thing anyone sees of your house, so it's worth getting the details right.
-
Step 01
Initial Consultation and Estimate
We start at the property, talking through the look you're after and how the path needs to work day to day. The estimate that follows is built around your walkway, with nothing padded into it.
-
Step 02
Custom Design and Material Selection
We go through materials and design details with you, steering toward what suits the house, holds up under real traffic, and fits the budget. All three matter, and we won't quietly trade one off against another.
-
Step 03
Scheduling and Installation
Once it's settled we lock in a start date that suits you. Our own in-house crew preps the site, handles the grading, and lays the walkway — none of it gets handed off to subs.
-
Step 04
Final Inspection and Satisfaction Guarantee
When it's down we run a detailed quality check and walk it with you. Every walkway we lay is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, so anything not sitting right gets dealt with.
Common questions
FAQs About Walkway Installation
The questions that come up most often before a walkway job starts.
How Long Does a New Walkway Take?
Two to seven days for most installs, depending on how complex the design is and what the site needs doing to it first.
What Materials Do You Use?
Natural stone, concrete and pavers. We'll go through which one suits your style, the amount of foot traffic the path takes, and the way the ground sits.
Do You Offer a Warranty?
We do — a year on our labor and 25 years on the materials, so the work and what went into it are both covered.
Can I Customize the Design?
Yes. We design the walkway with you and show you how it will read against the front of the house before anything gets laid.
Are You Licensed and Insured?
Yes, both. Our New Jersey license number is 13VH13053600, and the insurance covers you as well as us for the length of the project.
How Do I Get Started?
Call us at (201) 921-6186 or fill in the form on this page. We'll come back to you quickly and get an estimate on the calendar.

A little bit about us
Sixty years in business, and we still handle the whole job ourselves — design, installation and the upkeep that keeps it looking right years later. Our crew has worked properties all over the area, and we treat every yard the way we'd treat one on our own street.
We build with durable, low-waste materials wherever we can, and we'd rather take an extra day than hand back work we aren't proud of. We're glad to be part of this community, and we'd like to earn a spot on your property.
